4.2. Synthesis of hydrazide (12-14)
General procedure: Freshly prepared ester (9-11) (5.2 mmol) was taken and dilutedwith 35 mL of methanol. In the reaction mixture hydrazinemonohydrate 85% (2.0 mL) was added and refluxed for 8 h. TLC wasused to monitor the completion of reaction. Upon the completion of thereaction methanol was evaporated on rotary evaporator and white solidwas obtained. To remove excessive hydrazine the solid was washedwith minimum amount of distilled water. The solid product (12-14)obtained was dried and weighed
