Method b: heteroaromatic iodination

General procedure: To a suspension of heteroaromatic (1.0 eq.) and solid K₂C0₃ (1.0 eq.) in THF (C = 0.125 M), at 0°C, a solution of iodine (1.0 eq.) in THF (C = 0.125 M) was added dropwise over the course of one hour. The mixture was stirred at rt until no more evolution was noticed by UPLC-MS (2 h, unless mentioned otherwise). The reaction mixture was hydrolysed, extracted thrice with EtOAc and the organic layer was dried and concentrated
