General procedure: 2M NaOH (3mL) was added to a solution of compound 2 or 40-51 (130mg, 0.431mmol) in MeOH (5mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 8h. The reaction mixture was quenched with ice/2M HCl and stirred for 1h to form a white precipitate. After the mixture was filtrated, the precipitate was washed with H2O and recrystallized from each suitable solvent to give desired carboxylic acid 3-15.
