17.2 Step 2: 2-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)acetic acid
The ester from step 1 (226.3 mg, 1.3 mmol) was dissolved in THF (4 mL) and cooled to 0 °C, then 1 N aqueouslithium hydroxide (1.48 mL, 1.5 mmol) was added and the reaction was allowed to warm to room temperature. After 2.5h, 1 M HCl was used to quench the reaction and the solution was concentrated to afford the title compound in quantitativeyield.
