EXAMPLE 44 To a solution of the 3,6-dichloropyridazine-4-carboxylic acid (2.5 g, 12.9 mmol) in methylene chloride (25 mL) was added oxalyl chloride (14.2 mmol, 1.1 eq.) followed by 2 drops of DMF and the mixture was allowed to stir overnight at room temperature. The solvent was then removed in vacuo to afford the crude acid chloride as oil which was used without further purification (quantitative).
