Method 3: To a solution of the bromide in CH3CN is added KSCN (1.5 eq). The reaction was stirred at rt and monitored by TLC. Upon completion by TLC, the reaction mixture was filtered and EtOAc is added. The organics were washed with deionized (DI) H2O (3X), sat'd. aq. NaCl (1X), dried over MgSO4 and concentrated. The product was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel with 10% EtOAc/hexanes (unless noted otherwise).
