A 4N-hydrochloric acid 1,4-dioxane solution (30 ml) was added to a 1,4-dioxane solution (30 ml) of t-butyl 4-(2,4-difluorophenoxy)piperidine-1-carboxylate (2.28 g, 7.28 mmol), under nitrogen stream, and the mixture was allowed to react at room temperature overnight. The reaction solution was concentrated to afford 4-(2,4-difluorophenoxy)piperidine hydrochloride (1.63 g) as a white solid.
