Steps:

General procedure of microwave-assisted synthesis for the synthesis of 2-oxazolines

General procedure: Carboxylic acid (0.3 mmol, 1 equiv.), 2-chloroethyl isocyanates (0.375 mmol, 1.25 equiv.) and 0.6 mmol DMAP (0.6 mmol, 2 equiv.) were added into 3 mL toluene in a 10 mL glass vial under nitrogen atmosphere. Then the tube was then placed into the microwave synthesizer, and the reaction was carried out at 140 for 5 min. After the reaction was complete, the solvent was removed under vacuum. The resulting crude residue was purified by basic alumina column chromatography to give the 2-oxazolines. The 2-oxazolines were further characterized by GC-MS, 1H NMR and 13C NMR.
