General procedure: The substituted aniline (22ae22f) (10.0 mmol, 1.0 eq), bis(pinacolato)diboron (12.0 mmol, 1.2 eq), potassium acetate(30.0 mmol, 3.0 eq) and PdCl2(dppf) (1.0 mmol, 0.1 eq) were suspendedin 1,4-dioxane (50 mL) under argon atmosphere and thereaction mixture was heated to 90 C for 12 h. The crude mixturewas filtered through a thin plug of Celite. The Celite plug waswashed with ethyl acetate and filtrate was concentrated. Theresulting residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (petroleumether/ethyl acetate, v/v, 98:2) to give the desired product.
