Preparation of thiazol-4-amine hydrochloride
To a mixture of tert-butyl thiazol-4-ylcarbamate (34.0 g, 169.8 mmol) in dichloromethane (150 mL) was added 4.0 M hydrochloric acid in anhydrous dioxane (180 mL).
The reaction mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 3 hours and then filtered.
The residue rinsed with diethyl ether (80 mL) to afford the title compound as a colorless solid (22.99 g, 99% yield): MS (ES+) m/z 101 (M+1).
