Steps:
Step 2 - 3-(3-(Dimethylamino)phenyl)-1H-pyrazol-5-amine.
To a solution of 3-[3-(dimethylamino)phenyl]-3-oxo-propanenitrile (0.9 g, 4.78 mmol) in EtOH (5 mL) was added hydrazine;hydrate (598.41 mg, 12.0 mmol, 580.98 uL), then the mixture was stirred at 80 °C for 12 hours. On completion, the residue was diluted with water (100 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (80 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with brine (40 mL) and dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to give title compound (750 mg) as yellow solid. LC/MS (ESI, m/z): [M +1]+ = 203.1+.
