To a stirred solution of 5-bromo-3-nitro-1H-indole (100 mg, 0.414 mmol) in AcOH (2.0 mL) was added SnCl2(78.7 mg, 0.415 mmol) at 25 . The resulting mixture was warmed to 85 and stirred at that temperature for 2 h. The mixture was cooled to 25 and concentrated under reduced pressure to give 5-bromo-1H-indol-3-amine (80.0 mg, 92%yield) as a yellow solid which was used directly in the next step without further purification. LC-MS: m/z [M+H]+211.1.
