To a solution of the intermediate prepared in Step A (1,28 g, 5.75 mmol) in THF (35 mL) was added 1 N aqueous HCl (25 mL, 25 mmol). After 16 hours at ambient temperature the reaction was poured onto saturated aqueous NaHCO₃ (500 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (1 L). The organic layer was dried (MgSO₄) and concentrated in vacuo, affording the title compound as an orange oil.
