Steps:

1.1 (1) Synthesis of 6,7-dihydro-4(5H)-benzofuranone
Add 1,3-cyclohexanedione (10.0 g, 89.18 mmol) to a 250 mL round bottom flask, dissolve in 60 mL of water, and add 35 mL of 20% sodium hydroxide solution under ice bath.Further, KI (2.9 g, 17.4 mmol) was added, and finally, 16 mL of a 40% aqueous solution of chloroacetaldehyde was slowly added dropwise, and the reaction was carried out at room temperature. After 12 hours, the material was completely reacted by TLC.Adding a mass fraction of 37.5% concentrated hydrochloric acid to pH=4, adding 100 mL of water, extracting with petroleum ether (100 mL×4), combining the organic phases, washing with saturated brine (100 mL×3), and finally using anhydrous sodium sulfate dry,The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give a pale yellow liquid, i.e., 6,7-dihydro-4(5H)-benzofuranone, 10.0 g, yield 82%.
