Reaction Conditions:
in acetic acid at 120; for 2 h;Inert atmosphere;
Steps:
Quinoxalines 5 and 7; General Procedure
General procedure: NBS (214 mg, 1.2 mmol) was added to a solution of the appropriate alkyne 4 (1.0 mmol) in AcOH (8 mL) at r.t. The reaction mixture was stirred at reflux for 2 h, then the respective diamine 2 (1.1 mmol) was added to the reaction mixture directly. The mixture was stirred at 120 °C for 2 h continuously, cooled to r.t., and the solvent was concentrated.The residue was diluted with aq NaHCO3 (95%, 10 mL) and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc (3 × 20 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried, filtered and evaporated to afford the crude product. Purification on silica gel (hexanes/EtOAc: 10:1to 6:1) afforded quinoxaline 5 or 7.
