Steps:
6.2 Step 2: 4-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)benzenesulfonyl chloride
Put 4-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)benzenesulfonyl acid (1.0 g, 0.004 mol) in a round bottom flask, dichloromethane (20 mL) was added and dissolved. After that, PCl5 (1.65 g, 0.008 mol) was added and stirred at 90 °C for 14 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the mixture was cooled to room temperature and concentrated under pressure. It was diluted with water and ethyl acetate, and the organic layer was washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated. It was solidified using diethyl ether and hexane, filtered, and dried to obtain the target compound (0.96 g, 90%).
