General method of synthesis of 1-Methyl-1H-benzimidazole-6-carboxylic Acids (31-40)
General procedure: A solution of the adequate ester 20-30 in MeOH and 30% KOH was stirred at 60 °C for 3 h. The solution was cooled, diluted with water and acidified to pH 4 with 20% HCl solution. The suspension was filtered and purified as needed to give the corresponding acid.
