General procedure for hydrolisis of methyl/ethyl esters.
General procedure: KOH aq. (10%) was added to a solution of the ester in THF and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1h. The pH was brought to 4 by addition of 5M HCl and then extracted with EtOAc. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated in vacuo to afford the acid.
