Compound 32. 4-(4-Chloro-phenyl)-thiazole-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (B241228) 2-Bromo-4'-chloroacetophenone (7.0 g, 30 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (200 mL). Ethyl thiooxamate (4.0 g, 30 mmol) and pyridine (2.5 mL) were added to it. The yellow solution was refluxed for 1 hour (oil bath). After cooling to room temperature, the solution was poured into ice-water (500 mL). After filtration, the precipitate was washed with cold water. The collected solid was dried to afford an off-white solid (4.7 g, Y=55%). The structure of the compound was confirmed by MNR.
