Steps:
1 Step 1 - 8-Bromo-3-iodoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine
To a solution of 8-bromoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine (5.00 g, 25.3 mmol, CASNo. 850349-02-9) in CH3CN (30 mL) was added NIS (5.71 g, 25.3 mmol) at 25 °C. The mixture was stirred at 25 °C for 0.5 hour. On completion, the mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The mixture was purified by silica gel column to give the title compound (7.30 g, 89% yield) as a greenish solid. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.38 (d, J= 6.8 Hz, 1H), 7.80 (s, 1H), 7.70 (d, J= 7.2 Hz, 1H), 7.00 (t, J= 7.2 Hz, 1H).
