Example 7 endo-3-exo-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-ol hydrochloride (197FBA20a) 4 M HCl solution in dioxane (40 mL) was added to solution of 197FBA17d (3.81 g, 15.8 mmol) in diethylether (40 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred during 2 h, then evaporated to give a white solid, which was filtered, washed with heptane (70 mL), and dried to give 197FBA20a as a white solid (2.17 g, 77%). ¹H-NMR (DMSO-d₆) δ 3.87 (br s, 2H), 2.27 (d, J=7.3, 2H), 2.00 (dd, J=14.9 and 3.2, 2H), 1.87-1.83 (m, 2H), 1.74 (d, J=14.6, 2H), 1.07 (s, 3H).
