Intermediate 17: step a 1-Methyl-1H-benzoimidazole-5-carboxylic acid methoxy-methyl-amide To a mixture of 1-methyl-1H-benzoimidazole-5-carbonyl chloride.HCl (1 g, 4.33 mmol) and O,N-dimethyl-hydroxylamine.HCl (422 mg, 4.33 mmol) in dichloromethane (15 mL) was added Et3N (2.4 mL, 17.3 mmol) dropwise. The reaction mixture was stirred for 24 h. Water (20 mL) was added and the solution was extracted with dichloromethane. The organic extracts were dried (Na2SO4), filtered, concentrated and purified through column chromatography to afford the title compound as a white solid.
