295.1 Step 1: 2-ethylmalonamide
To a solution of dimethyl 2-ethylmalonate (lg, 5.3 mmol) in EtOH (15 mL) was added NH3/H20(15ml) with stirring at rt. for 24h . The mixture was concentrated, washed by water, dried over Na2S04, removal the solvent to left the solid crude product, the solid was dried under reduced pressure to give 2-ethylmalonamide (134 mg, 16.5% yield).
