Steps:

4.3 General procedure for the conversion of azides into iodides
General procedure: To a solution of alkyl azide (1 equiv) 0.2 M in dichloromethane were added at room temperature 2-4 equiv of tert-BuI under an argon atmosphere. After stirring for 18 h at room temperature, the reaction mixture was washed with saturated Na2S2O4 and the layers were separated. The organic phase was dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. Flash column chromatography on silica gel using pentane as the eluent afforded the corresponding iodide.
