Steps:
4.1 Step 1: Synthesis of methyl 4-(ethylsulfonamido)benzoate
Methyl 4-aminobenzoate (2.0 g, 13.2 mmol, 1.0 eq) was dissolved in DCM (15 ml), stirred and pyridine (2.1 g, 26.4 mmol, 2.0 eq) was added to the reaction mixture. The reactionmixture was cooled to 0-5 °C with ice bath. Then ethanesulfonyl chloride (2.0 eq, 15.8 mmol,1.2 eq) was added dropwise to the reaction mixture, and the temperature of the reaction was kept no more than 10 °C. The reaction was warmed to room temperate and kept for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was poured into water, some solids appeared. The solids were collected by filtration and the collected solids were washed with water (20 mlx2) to give the product wet(4.6g).
