5-FLUORO-2-METHYL-QUINAZOLINE (D15) 5-Fluoro-2-methyl-3, 4-dihydro-quinazoline (20.0 g, 122 MMOL) was dissolved in chloroform (450 mL) and manganese (IV) oxide (94.8 g, 1091 MMOL) added. The mixture was allowed to stir at room temperature for 88 hours. The mixture was filtered through a plug of celite and the solvent removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound as a yellow coloured solid (19.6 g, 99%)
