Steps:

A suspension of 3,7-dichloroquinolin-4-ol (500 mg, 2.33 mmol) in 6.5 mL of phosphoryl trichloride is heated at 100° C. for 2 hours. Once at room temperature, the solution is poured into a water/ice mixture, filtered and washed with a saturated NaHCO3 solution and then water. The resulting white solid is dried and used without further purification. (0251) Yield 92%. White solid; RMN 1H (DMSO, 400 MHz) δ 7.88 (1H, dd, J=9.1, 2.2 Hz); 8.24 (1H, d, J=2.2 Hz); 8.26 (1H, d, J=9.1 Hz); 9.07 (1H, s); RMN 13C (DMSO, 100 MHz) δ 124.8; 126.0; 127.0; 128.3; 129.7; 135.5; 138.3; 146.7; 151.0. SM (ESI+): m/z=232 [M+1].
