Preparation of Intermediate 4-Substituted-α-Hydroxyphenylacetylhydrazine
General procedure: Add the corresponding ester (0.1 mol) and 100 mL of anhydrous methanol into a 250 mL round bottom flask, add hydrazine hydrate (0.15 mol), and heat to reflux for 2-3 hours.TLC monitors the completion of the reaction. After cooling, a white solid is precipitated, filtered with suction, and the filter cake is dried. The yield is between 71 and 76%.
