Yield:-

Reaction Conditions:

with succinic acid in acetone at 25 - 35; for 1 - 2 h;Heating / reflux;

Steps:

2 Example 2
Pure Sumatriptan (10 grams) was suspended in acetone (150 ml) and heated to reflux temperature. Then Succinic acid was added (4.0 g) to the reaction mixture. The reaction mass was stirred at reflux temperature for 30-60 minutes. The mass was further cooled to a temperature of 25-35°C and stirred for about 30-60 minutes. The solid mass was filtered, and dried at a temperature of 60-70°C to afford the crystalline Form-I of Sumatriptan succinate. (Weight: 13.1 grams)
