A benzodiazepine developed in Russia, phenazepam is used in Europe for treatment of epilepsy, alcohol withdrawal syndrome, and insomnia. Phenazepam has gained popularity as a recreational drug and is sold under street names such as Zannie, Bonzai, Bonzai Supersleep, and Kronic.
