First Aid MeasuresBack to Contents
【Ingestion】

If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately.
【Ingestion】

Seek medical assistance.
【Inhalation】

Vapors may cause dizziness or asphyxiation without warning.
【Inhalation】

Move victim to fresh air. Apply artificial respiration if victim is not breathing. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.
【Inhalation】

Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.
【Skin】

Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Wash clothing before reuse.
【Skin】

Remove and isolate contaminated clothing and shoes. In case of contact with liquefied gas, thaw frosted parts with lukewarm water.
【Skin】

Contact with gas or liquefied gas may cause burns, severe injury and/or frostbite.
【Eyes】

See Skin.
【Eyes】

Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid immediately.
Handling and StorageBack to Contents
【Storage】

Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
【Handling】

Wash thoroughly after handling. Use with adequate ventilation. Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Avoid ingestion and inhalation.
Hazards IdentificationBack to Contents
【Ingestion】

Unlikely to occur.
【Inhalation】

May cause respiratory tract irritation. May cause methemoglobinemia, cyanosis, convulsions, tachycardia, dyspnea, and death.
【Skin】

May cause skin irritation. May cause skin sensitization, an allergic reaction, which becomes evident upon re-exposure to this material. May produce mucosal lesions.
【Eyes】

May cause eye irritation.
【Ingestion】

May cause irritation of the digestive tract. May cause kidney damage. May cause central nervous system depression, characterized by excitement, followed by headache, dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea. Advanced stages may cause collapse, unconsciousness, coma and possible death due to respiratory failure. Methemoglobinemia is characterized by dizziness, drowsiness, headache, breath shortness, cyanosis with bluish skin, rapid heart rate and chocolate-brown colored blood. May cause sideroblastic anemia and hemolytic anemia. May result in Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Ingestion of large amounts may cause cyanosis, respiratory depression and cardiac arrest.
【Hazards】

Vapors from liquefied gas are initially heavier than air and spread along ground.

Exposure Controls/Personal ProtectionBack to Contents
【Personal Protection】

Eyes: Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166. Skin: Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin exposure. Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.
【Personal Protection】

Wear appropriate protective gloves, clothing and goggles.
【Respirators】

Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
【Respirators】

Follow the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29CFR 1910.134 or European Standard EN 149. Always use a NIOSH or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator when necessary.
【Exposure Effects】

Chronic ingestion may cause effects similar to those of acute ingestion. Chronic exposure may lead to weight loss, shortness of breath, weakness, and often aplastic anemia. Experimental carcinogen.

【Fire Fighting】

Use extinguishing agent suitable for type of surrounding fire.
【Fire Fighting】

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. To extinguish fire, use water, dry chemical, chemical foam, or alcohol-resistant foam.
【Fire Potential】

May burn but does not ignite readily
Accidental Release MeasuresBack to Contents
【Small spills/leaks】

Clean up spills immediately, using the appropriate protective equipment. Sweep up or absorb material, then place into a suitable clean, dry, closed container for disposal. Avoid generating dusty conditions. Provide ventilation.
【Small spills/leaks】

Prevent any contact with the spilled material. Stop leak if you can do it without risk. Do not direct water at spill or source of leak. If possible, turn leaking containers so that gas escapes rather than liquid. Allow substance to evaporate and vntilate the area.
Stability and ReactivityBack to Contents
【Stability】

Stable under normal temperatures and pressures.
【Incompatibilities】

Strong oxidizing agents - strong acids - strong bases.
【Decomposition】

Nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen.
【Combustion Products】

Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.
