Steps:

Step 1:
4-(5-isopropoxy-2-methyl-4-nitrophenyl) pyridine
1-chloro-5-isopropoxy-2-methyl-4-nitrobenzene (0.85g, 3.7mmol), 4-pyridine boronic acid (0.5g, 4.1mmol), tris (dibenzylideneacetone) dipalladium (0.34g, 0.37mmol), 2-dicyclohexyl phosphino-2 ', 6'-dimethoxy-biphenyl (S-phos) (0.38g, 0.93mmol), potassium phosphate trihydrate (2g, 7.51mmol), 1,4-dioxane (6mL) and water (3mL) were added to a 20mL microwave tube.
The reaction mixture was heated up to 120°C by microwave under the protection of nitrogen and stirred for 40 minutes.
After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was added with ethyl acetate, washed with saturated brine, dried and concentrated.
The thus obtained crude product was separated and purified by column chromatography (silica gel column, eluent: ethyl acetate/petroleum ether, gradient:
0∼50% ethyl acetate) to obtain the title compound (yellow solid, 0.81g, 81%).
