Isoamyl butyrate synthesis

4synthesis methods
Usually prepared by esterification of commercial isoamyl alcohols with butyric acid by heating in the presence of Twitchell’s reagent; or by fermentation from butyric acid and isoamyl alcohol

Yield:-

Reaction Conditions:

with polyvinyl alcohol : chitosan : lipase (Pseudomonas cepacia) 5:5:2.5 at 52; for 3 h;Sonication;Enzymatic reaction;

Steps:

2.3 Reaction process/procedure in ultrasonication technique
General procedure: Initially, 30mL glass reactor equipped with a mechanical stirrer was clamped at the centre of ultrasonic bath, nearly 4cm below the surface of water present in ultrasonic bath. In this reaction, benzyl alcohol (10mmol) was added, which is followed by addition of the solvent iso-octane. Afterwards, specified butyrate donor (27mmol) was added in it and reaction was initiated by addition of the immobilized PVA:CHI:lipase biocatalyst. The mechanical stirrer speed, duty cycle, power and frequency were kept maintained as mentioned, along with specified temperature of the bath.
