ChEBI: Furconazole-cis is a dichlorobenzene, a conazole fungicide and a triazole fungicide. | [Production Methods]
No publicly available industrial or patent literature describes a commercial manufacturing process for furconazole-cis. However, based on its structure its industrial synthesis would have followed the standard conazole fungicide route: construction of the chiral tetrahydrofuran intermediate bearing the dichlorophenyl substituent, introduction of the trifluoroethoxy side chain, and subsequent nucleophilic substitution or alkylation with 1,2,4 triazole under basic conditions to form the final heterocyclic ether linkage. Large scale production would have used batch reactors, controlled halogenation and etherification steps, and solvent based purification typical of late 1980s triazole fungicide manufacturing. | [Mechanism of action]
Sterol demethlyation inhibitor. Systemic with both protective and curative action | [Pesticide Type]
