Cyazofamid is commercially produced through a multi-step chemical synthesis. One common method involves the reaction of 4-chloro-2-cyano-N,N-dimethyl-5-(4'-methylphenyl)-1H-imidazole-1-sulfonamide with N,N-dimethylaminosulfonyl chloride in the presence of potassium carbonate and ethyl acetate under reflux conditions for several hours.
