Obtained by evaporation of an aqueous solution of CrO3 which
has been neutralized with Rb2CO3 (or RbOH).
The by-product Rb2Cr2O7 forms at even a very small excess
of CrO3; therefore somewhat more than the stoichiometric quantity
of Rb2CO3 should be used.
Rb2CO3 + CrO3 = Rb2CrO4 + CO2 |
