Lithium iodate (chemical formula: LiIO3) is a negative uniaxial crystal used in nonlinear acousto-optic and piezoelectric applications. It has already been used in 347nm Ruby lasers. It serves as a raw material for the production of piezoelectric and frequency-doubled lithium iodate single crystals. It is used as an oxidant; in laser technology, it is used as a medium for generating second harmonics and parametric oscillations; it can also be used to manufacture narrow-pulse, broadband ultrasonic transducers with broad application prospects in the aerospace, chemical, metallurgical, and petroleum industries; and it is used as an analytical reagent, catalyst, and oxidant. |
