| Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Description]
DU-14 (186303-55-9) inhibits steroid sulfatase (IC50=ca. 60 nM). Enhances learning and spatial memory in rats.1 Inhibits proliferation of human MCF-7 breast cancer cells.2 | [Uses]
DU-14 is a potent steroid sulfatase inhibitor with an IC50 of 55.8 nM. DU-14 inhibits the MCF-7 cell proliferation (IC50 = 38.7 nM). DU-14 has neuroprotective effects against neurotoxic Aβ, suggesting that up-regulation of endogenous DHEAS by DU-14 could be beneficial to the alleviation of Aβ-induced impairments in spatial memory and synaptic plasticity[1][2][3]. | [in vivo]
DU-14 (30 mg/kg, i.p., once time) inhibits steroid sulfatase activity in both brain and liver tissues and enhances the memory-enhancing properties of DHEAS in rats with scopolamine-induced amnesia[2].
