method for modifying fibers and/or textiles with pinacrid yellow using an antimicrobial active component, said antimicrobial active component comprising a silver component desensitized with other components and optionally one or more additional antimicrobial components, wherein the other components used comprise at least one compound selected from quinoline derivatives. Preferably, the antimicrobial active component applied to said fibers or textiles is a silver component desensitized with additional components comprising pinacrid yellow. Often, the antimicrobial active component used comprises a silver salt as the silver component. In one embodiment of the invention, the antimicrobial active component used comprises an in-situ formed silver salt as the silver component and pinacrid yellow as other components. In one embodiment of the invention, the antimicrobial active component used comprises a silver salt as the silver component and at least one quinoline derivative and an additional benzotriazole derivative as a desensitizing component. The invention also provides a method characterized in that the amount of said silver component used is 0.0001 wt% to 1.5 wt% (including, for example, 0.0001 to 0.5 wt%) based on the total weight of said fibers or textiles. Based on the total weight of the fibers or textiles, the desensitizing component used is a quinoline derivative in an amount of 0.1 ppm to 500 ppm. The desensitizing component comprises pinacridol yellow as a single component or a combination of pinacridol yellow and at least one other desensitizing component. The present invention also provides formulations comprising 0.01% to 10% silver component and 0.001% to 2% pinacridol yellow. |

HIPK3 (homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 3) is strongly expressed in the heart and muscle tissues. It is up-regulated in multidrug-resistant cells. | [Biochem/physiol Actions]
HIPK3 (homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 3) is a nuclear serine/threonine protein kinase and mainly controls death receptor signaling. HIPK3 is involved in the transcriptional corepression, cell differentiation, growth suppression and apoptosis. It is up-regulated in prostate cancer cells, resulting in increased resistance to Fas receptor-mediated apoptosis by disturbing association between FADD (fas-associated death domain) and caspase 8. |
