General procedure for the synthesis of methyl 2-amino-6-fluoro-3-nitrobenzoate from methyl 2,6-difluoro-3-nitrobenzoate: Methyl 2,6-difluoro-3-nitrobenzoate (32.55 g, 150 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (300 mL), followed by the addition of ammonia (13 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature. Upon completion of the reaction, the resulting yellow solid product methyl 2-amino-6-fluoro-3-nitrobenzoate (18.31 g, 57% yield) was collected by filtration. | [References]
