| Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Chemical Properties]
The pure product is a white, hygroscopic solid. Its mp is 155-157°C, vapor pressure is 1.33×10-5 Pa (20°C), and relative density is 1.13. Its solubility in water is 76% at 25°C, 78% at 37°C, and 85% at 56°C. It is slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol, but insoluble in petroleum hydrocarbons. Its aqueous solution (pH 3-3.4) is stable to light and acidic conditions, but unstable to alkali, with no effect upon storage at 120°C for 169 hours. The commercial product has a content of >96% and an mp of 150-160°C. | [Uses]
DIFENZOQUAT METHYLSULFATE is Herbicide; agricultural fungicide.
| [Uses]
DIFENZOQUAT METHYLSULFATE is used to control wild oats in wheat, barley, ?ax, maize, rye grass, vetches and rye grass crops.
| [Safety Profile]
Poison by ingestion. Moderatelytoxic by skin contact. When heatedto decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of NOx andSOx. | [Environmental Fate]
Soil. Though no products were reported, the half-life in soil is approximately 3 months (Hartley and Kidd, 1987). Photolytic. Degrades photolytically to the volatile monomethyl pyrazole (Hartley and Kidd, 1987). Chemical/Physical. May react with aluminum releasing hydrogen (Hartley and Kidd, 1987). |
