Reddish-brown powder. Easily soluble in water, with solubility of 30g/L at 60°C and 48g/L at 98°C. The aqueous solution is golden yellow, turning orange-red brown upon addition of concentrated hydrochloric acid and golden yellow upon addition of concentrated sodium hydroxide. Slightly soluble in ethanol, it is lemon-white. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it is orange-red brown, turning golden yellow upon dilution. The color changes slightly when exposed to copper and iron ions during dyeing. It exhibits good chlorine resistance and is resistant to reduction by Rongalite and alkali sulfide. | [Preparation]
