Chemical Properties
Black powder, insoluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in acetone, chloroform, pyridine, toluene, soluble in o-chlorophenol, xylene, tetrahydronaphthalene. Dark purple in concentrated sulfuric acid, and becomes dark purple precipitate after dilution. The cryptochrome in alkaline insurance powder reducing solution is purple, in acidic solution is dark red. Originally green, oxidized to black. At present, they are used as black reducing dyes. It belongs to anthraquinone-anthraquinone type of reducing dyestuff.
Uses
Vat green 9 is a verstaile organic dye used in the food and textile industries. Color depth, shade and fastness of vat green 9 can be modified via indirect electrochemical reduction.
Properties and Applications
deep green. Black powder. Etanol and insoluble in water, soluble in 2 – Chlorophenol, 1, 2, 3, 4 – Tetrahydronaphthalene and Xylene, slightly soluble in Acetone, Chloroform, Pyridine and Toluene. In concentrated sulfuric acid to dark purple, dilution after dark purple precipitation; In concentrated nitric acid for SAP green. Alkaline reduction leuco for purple; Acid reduction leuco for wine. Mainly used for cotton fabric dyeing, suitable for suspension pad dyeing. The leuco used for dyeing yarn. Don’t the bleaching solution treatment dye light color, the chlorine bleaching can be dyed grey or black. Can also be used for viscose, silk and wool dyeing.
