| Synthesis | 8.2 Synthesis of 1-aminocyclopropane methanol hydrochloride
1.04 g of tert-butyl (1-hydroxymethylcyclopropyl)-carbamate was dissolved in 5 mL of dioxane. Under stirring, 2.5 mL of 4 mol/L HCl in dioxane solution was added slowly and dropwise. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 hours. Subsequently, the solvent was evaporated to half of the original volume and the precipitated solid was collected by filtration. 0.5 g of the target product 1-aminocyclopropanemethanol hydrochloride was finally obtained.
