The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. We also provide Prestige Antibodies™ protocols and other useful information. | | Biological Activity | EPS8 (epidermal growth factor receptor pathway substrate 8) is a substrate for tyrosine kinases, such as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR), platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) and ERBB2 (erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2). In addition, it also interacts with the Src non-receptor tyrosine kinase. The protein is involved in Rac signaling and receptor endocytosis. It also regulates dendritic cell migration, morphogenesis of intestinal cells and microvilli, and stereocilia activity. It is upregulated in pancreatic cancer and oral squamous cell carcinoma. Mutation in EPS8 is associated with autosomal recessive profound deafness. |
