Gamma-Cyclodextrin (γ-CD) is a natural, cyclic oligosaccharide composed of eight D-glucose units linked by α-1,4 glycosidic bonds. It belongs to the cyclodextrin family, which also includes alpha- (6 units) and beta- (7 units) cyclodextrin.

Its unique molecular structure—a ring with a hydrophilic (water-loving) exterior and a hydrophobic (water-repelling) interior cavity—allows it to form "inclusion complexes" by trapping other molecules inside its cavity. This core characteristic is the foundation for all its key selling points.
