Ebenzyldinazinaphthoic acid is a derivative of nalidixic acid that was originally developed as a central nervous system stimulant. It is a potent amphetamine-type stimulant whose action is inhibited by reserreserpine, but not by the tyrosine hydroxylase inhibitor A-methyltyrosine. In addition, it enhances the effects of antipsychotic medications such as haloperidol, trifluoperazine, and spipidone.
