Introduction: 

Diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA), also known as diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid, is an excellent ammonium carboxylic complex agent, chelating property is strong, it forms with most cations than the corresponding chelates of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid to be stable.

Application: 

As a highly efficient chelating agent, diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid can be used in the production of acrylic fiber color inhibitors, paper industry, water softening agent, textile additives, chelating titrant, color photography and food industry, and it is also widely used in medical treatment, rare earth element separation and agricultural production.

Chemical properties: 

This product is white crystal or crystalline powder. Melting point 230 ℃ (decomposition), soluble in hot water and alkali solution, slightly soluble in cold water, insoluble in alcohol ether and other organic solvents.

Production method: 

283.7kg monochloroacetic acid was put into the reactor, and 220L of distilled water was added to stir and dissolve. Add 40% NaOH solution at 15℃, 300kg, about 1.5h. Then add 51.6kg diethylenetriamine under stirring, and control the temperature at about 20℃ during the adding process. 120kgNaOH aqueous solution (40%) was then added. Reaction at 40℃ for 10 ~ 12h. The reaction liquid is cooled to 5 ~ 10℃. Add 260L concentrated hydrochloric acid under stirring, adjust the pH value to 1.6 ~ 1.7, leave overnight, filter out the crystallization, wash the crystallization with 400L ice water, vacuum drying, and obtain about 130kg of crude product. Decolorization with distilled water to produce pure products.
