Polygalacin D (PGD) is a bioactive compound with anti-cancer and anti-proliferation properties isolated from Platycodon grandiflorum.
Polygalacin D inhibits the expression of the IAP protein family, including survival proteins, cIAP-1 and cIAP-2 proteins, and blocks the PI3K/Akt pathway by inhibiting GSK3β, Akt phosphorylation, and PI3K expression. Polygalacin D induces apoptosis through the PI3K/Akt pathway. Promote intelligence, reduce myocardial damage, antitussive and expectorant effects.
