Steps:
1 Synthesis of 3, 4-dibromobutanone (2)
Synthesis of the intermediate compound 2 was carried out according to the previously reported procedure [20]. A solution of 20 bromine (23.03g, 0.144mol) in 51 dichloromethane (20mL) was added dropwise at -10°C to a stirred solution of α,β-unsaturated butanone (10g, 0.143mol) in dichloromethane (20mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at 0°C for 20min. Then saturated 52 sodium thiosulfate was added, and the organic layer was washed with water, brine and dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. Compound 19 2 (31.61g, 96.3% yield) was obtained as a pale yellowish oil, used further for next step without purification.
